BULLOCK CREEK CLIMBING

Bullock Creek is a Mecca for sport climbing on the West Coast of New Zealand. First climbed in 1985, routes have risen organically from the towering limestone cliffs as the area developed over the years. In 2015, climbers were awarded a Sport New Zealand Hillary Expedition Grant to develop 30 new routes in 30 days. It was a grueling task but the mission, spearheaded by Neil Silverwood and Canadian climber Neil Warrington, along with a small team of climbing friends, met their goal on day 29. Neil's photos from his time at Bullock Creek feature in the guidebook produced for the area by Kiwi Tracks & Guides as well as The Climber magazine and New Zealand Geographic.
